PSA- You don’t have to feel stressed and hurried every day of your life.

I was there for a long time.  At first, I thought I was just getting it all done, and it was good to push myself to be the fastest I could be, to do all that I could do, to say yes even though everything in my wanted to say no.

 So, I kept going and kept adding to my schedule. Not only was I maxed out on what I was doing physically, but my mind was maxed out on trying to process and keep up with my never ending to do list and the daily schedules of all the people around me. 

As it became a normal way of life for me, what I didn’t know was that my body was taking the hit for my fast-paced, high stress, style of living. I didn’t know until about a year ago when I went to a holistic doctor to get my blood work checked. Along with checking my blood work she had me take a stress and hormone test. When the test results came in a few weeks later the results were clear. I was in chronic fatigue. 

The doctor even told me that if I didn’t slow down and find ways to destress that I would end up on bed rest. Her words confirmed to me that the other two tests (from 2 different doctors) I had taken early that year were right.
 My body was running at a pace it could not maintain.

 So, I started learning how to reduce my stress. It’s been a road full of learning and rethinking the way life “has to be.” I also have been working on my boundaries and saying the word “no” loud and clear.
Here is what I found to be true. Living life that is less stressful is an evolution. I started with what I knew would help, like a walk outside and adding the supplements that my body needed. Then as life went on I slowly found more and more tools to help. 

If you are on a similar journey, it doesn’t take long, and you will be able to look back and see that that small changes that you made in your life add up. Pretty soon you will be evolving into a whole new better version of yourself, one step at a time.
